    Question Steeping E-juice explained

    The Steeping Guide

What the heck is Steeping and why it is always mentioned?
It is not a myth.It works!

To put it simply Steep=Time . Letting a ejuice sit for time will cause the flavors to meld together and bring the flavors out more. Steeping happens naturally whether you want it to or not. When we refer to actually doing a process to steep i call it force steeping.

    Whats the reason for steeping?
when ejuice is made it is mixed but all of it doesnt come together as one yet . Steeping does not equal mixing. Its kinda like if you leave soda sit open for a long time it will get more and more flavorful and syrupy . You will get the most carbonation and least amount of flavor when the soda is just made. Alhough not a good thing for soda it is for ejuice.

Some Ejuice flavors need more time then others to reach its full flavor. The heavyest or most creamy of flavors will need longer then tart light tasting flavors.

Fruits and tart drink ejuices: Fruits need the least amount of steeping . Often no steeping is required. If you like tart real tasting fruits its best fresh. They will however get more juicy and sometimes candy tasting with steeping.

Candy/Bakery flavors: These will require some steeping for the rich creamy flavor to come out . Generally 3-10 days is sufficant to bring out the full flavor. Certain ones need longer then others. Chocolates, cheesecake, custards will need the longest in this catagory.

Tobacco's : Tobaccos usually need the longest amount of steep time. Most likely because they take longer and are tougher to break down into the pg/vg base. You will want at least 7-10 days of steeping but some tobaccos do not reach their full potential for up to 30 days.

How to steep and force steep:
    1. You can just leave it alone and nature will steep it all on its own. It will however take longer.

    2. You could take nature into your own hands and speed up the process. Remove the cap on the bottle and put it in a dry dark drawer or other area. This will speed up the process by a couple days.

    3. Give it a hot water bath. Let it sit in hot water for a couple hours. This will help jumpstart the steeping process but you will still need to use tip 1 or 2.

You can often tell when a juice is finished steeping by it changing color.Steeping will make it darker. Steeping really does make a big difference in Ejuice. I have had Ejuice where you could not tell it was the same juice after steeping. Iv had juices that were 100% unvapable and became great after steeping.Remember some juice is sold presteeped and other are made fresh so it depends on what you vape. Its all up to you if you want to give it time but in the end its more then worth it.

Thanks for this great info now I know more of what's going on with my mixes and steeping. I have made so many mixes steeping is kind required as I can not vape this stuff fast enough lol
    Thanks STR8!!!

I always steep in a dark place like my bar. Do you ever refrig your steeping juices? I have not, but would it make an effect or not?

Glad i could help. You do not want to refrigerate any juices . You can refridge pg/vg or nic base but flavorings or finished juices should not be. It will give them a funky taste and can make them go bad.Moisture is not good for ejuice. I was told by Tom from Capella not to and that a dark cool area is best for storage.

I had lost a bottle of sweetooth from a month ago, just found it, and it is THE BOMB

and i have noticed sun and long exposure to heat will diminish the flavor. I had a bottle of blu spot,
it was in my friends car for a week, and it had NO flavor.

My gut tells me heat and light are the enemy of juice too

Heat can oxidize the juice at a very fast rate as well as evaporate any ethyl alcohol in it. Yes it is a big enemy

Will steeping sweeten fruit flavors, say melon? Cuz I have a melon that is kinda amazing but it's not that sweet and when adding a sweetener can that be done post steeping?

I bought a handy little mixer that definitely speeds up the steeping process
