Lets talk about Lorillard buying Blu Cigs

I figured we can chat about this subject here. What ever is on your mind about it. Are you glad it happened or are you concerned that Big Tobacco is now in the E Cig market? By the way, Lorillard is the company that makes Newports.

I'm leaning toward dissapointment...this gives FDA reason to start shit storms..I dread to think what kinda of crap they'll do to regulate.. My 2 cents

i'm on the fence. i think it's a wonderful thing as lorrilard has the capitol to fight certain regulation. and they will expose millions more people to ecigs in a matter of months (or short years) than we've been able to since our inception.

i'm worried, because this will drive the market towards a very simple way of vaping. stick batts, pcc's, and pre filled cartos. i think that's hard to argue. that's just simply what's gonna happen. now, since i use stick batts and carto's this is not as big a deal for me as it is others, but the pricing of the pre filled carto's is really what it's all gonna come down to.

obviously that's where they'll make their real money, but at the same time if they don't keep prices reasonable they won't sell any. so, overall i do think this is a good thing. but there are certainly downfalls about it. the mom and pop liquid shops we all like shopping at currently, forget about it, they're done. unfortunately.

Prices to skyrocket on eliquid and same bans as analogs have now. We can vape in our cars and houses though. Get your mods now....Make your own or know people who do make good products

I am not happy about the purchase as I tend to dislike government intrusion into my life and this has opened the door a bit wider for them. The government can't even balance their books and yet think they should be able to tell me what I can and can't do, plus make be pay for the privilege through more taxes.

I really did not and still do not want ecigs to fall under tobacco regulations and this seems to put us even more firmly in the nasty basket we are trying to escape. NOT GOOD

Hmm, maybe time to start re-stocking nic base and cartos.
I guess it's hard to say just what will happen. There could be some good things, and some bad things that could come from this. Unless it will get difficult to get accessories in from China, we could still do co-ops for cartos, attys, ect., thru the forums.

i agree, but it is better than the alternative, it was either that or a drug delivery device which would have destroyed us. they literally could have wiped us off the market in one fell swoop had that happened. that was not an easy battle.

I think the nic base will ultimately be the real problem. Those of us that are use to purchasing bottles of eliquid which probably everyone on the forum are not going to like the pre-filled cartos. Heck I don't like any cartos other than CE#s because of the poly fiber.

agreed. be prepared to see bottles of juice disappear. maybe not soon, but with the way lorillard will want blu to continue to go, they will basically set the standard for what the market becomes with PM not far behind. bottles of juice will be one of the first things regulated out of existence. that and mods....

is my guess anyway....

Unfortunately you are right, I was hoping for the government to ignore us. Yep I am an eternal optimist, my glass is still half full but I am having to stop the leak with an o-ring just like I do with leaky tanks.
